Job Description
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides comprehensive psychiatric mental health care to the adult military population, retirees, and their significant others between the ages of 18 and 65. The PMHNP interfaces and collaborates with other professionals to insure appropriate and coordinated multidisciplinary patient evaluation and treatment. The PMHNP is able to function independently and in collaboration with credentialed health providers. The PMHNP serves as a role model and consultant to staff in the provision of psychiatric care, education, and research. Institutional and departmental visions, goals, philosophies, and objectives are supported by the PMHNP.
Job Requirements
Possesses a minimum of (1) year experience in mental health or psychiatric care for adults, individuals, families, couples, or group therapy. Graduated from an accredited baccalaureate degree program in nursing (BSN) acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General. Graduated from an accredited masters degree program in nursing acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General. Certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Maintains state licensure as an advance practice registered nurse, and maintains current BLS certification.
