Description

Key Role:

The successful candidate will use analytical methods and techniques employed by the Intelligence Community (IC) and DIA to conduct analysis of foreign nations’ defense plans, programs and policies governing military force employment, deployment, readiness and rules of engagement. Areas of analysis include joint and multilateral operations with allies and treaties/agreements to bolster security. Also includes analysis on:

  • Foreign nations’ defense-related strategic goals and objectives for enhancing force end-strength and the constraints and aspirations of the defense establishment
  • The role of defense forces in national security affairs and their influence on national policies, including decision-making process and internal political/military developments as they impact government stability

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Intelligence Studies, Strategic Studies, Military Studies or a related field
  • 3-4 years of military intelligence experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree
  • A Bachelors degree with specialized training and 2-3 years intelligence analysis experience may substitute for a Masters degree
  • Excellent research, communications and technical writing skills are required and will be evaluated by a board of subject matter experts

Additional Qualifications:

  • Junior analysts work semi-independently with frequent Government oversight to provide completed products that may require multiple significant revisions and/or editing

Clearance: Applicants selected must possess a secret clearance with no background information that would prevent eligibility to higher classification levels.
