Job Description
Overview:
This position requires the supervision that shall include simulation models with respect to maneuver, aviation, fires, logistics, and intelligence operations. Translates real world enemy and friendly force structures into a realistic training venue in support of ongoing deployments by operational forces as they prepare to deploy around the globe.
Responsibilities:
Able to study highly classified material and sanitizes to a lesser classification level for entry into a model, simulation or report.
Provides analysis and oversight into functional areas (e.g., aviation, ground combat, command and control, combat service support, intelligence, and opposing forces) and identifies strengths and weaknesses as they occur during a simulation-supported event.
Research documents and extract factual data for composition of military forces for a model/simulation. Edits doctrinal manuscripts, analyzes problem areas, and postulates feasible solutions for simulation and training events.
Participates in and conduct reviews and structured walk-through of simulation events and training, operation orders and plans, and information gathering requirements.
Provides analysis during exercises and may attend conferences and meetings at resident site and other locations off-site. Assists in reviewing classified material and recommends a lesser classification for use in events, models simulations, demonstrations, reports, and/or briefings.
Remains current in emerging technologies and advise military Division Heads on the procurement of new simulation models or upgrades to current simulation models. This includes drafting test plans, conducting tests, publishing test results, and maintaining and archiving of simulation based training scenarios including organizational databases, tactics, weapon system capabilities, doctrine, and force structures for use in preparation of strategic or tactical exercises. Documents the salient properties of the system(s) being evaluated and their relevance to Marine Corps or Joint training.
Translates operations orders into simulation databases. Conducts pre-event tests and evaluation of supporting databases, and parametric data. Conducts post-event critique and analysis employing various after action review systems.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; major in operations research, management, military science, political science or computer science/modeling equivalent area desired.
Minimum three years’ experience in military training and education. Attendance at a military career level school (Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School or equivalent), Intermediate Level School (Marine Corps Command and Staff, Army Command and Staff, Navy Command and Staff). The completion of the equivalent nonresident course for the above listed military schools is acceptable.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
