Description

WBB is seeking full-time consultant with experience and expertise in the Systems Engineering disciplines. The consultant should be an expert in systems engineering processes, procedures and the associated professional tools and applications and have a working knowledge of the JCIDS acquisition management process. Previous experience in basic research and consulting is a positive skill. The person should be familiar with all areas of systems engineering to include developing program descriptions, program requirements, planning technical staff and organization, planning technical maturation and administrating baseline management, planning and conducting technical reviews and coordinating overall program integration with risk management, test and evaluation, life cycle sustainment and contracting activities.

*Consultants should be able to demonstrate past experience in applying their systems engineering expertise to DoD or defense industry developed weapon systems. Specific experience in Navy, Marine Corps or Joint programs is a plus.
*The consultant will be expected to train, instruct and provide customer support either as an advisor, subject matter expert, facilitator or project lead in specific aspects of system engineering or for the overall program.
*Participates in organizational initiatives with various teams coordinating and providing SE related advice and assistance
*Researches, analyzes, evaluates and recommends new and existing technologies focusing on eliminating redundancy through integration and consolidation
*Provides recommendations to program and project managers; Lead / Chief / Director of Systems Engineering, System Architects and Technical Director’s support for resource planning, management and coordination
*Communicates regularly with customers and company leadership formally and informally, in writing, one-on-one, and meetings
*Implements improvements to processes, work methods and procedures
*Develops and conducts training to share SE knowledge and technical skills with others; supports a diverse work environment where differences are accepted; leads team decision-making
*Continues to build own technical and leadership skills

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

*Ability to develop business in the federal marketplace and particularly in the markets described above
*Ability to obtain a security clearance
*Exceptional technical knowledge and organizational skill in researching, planning and managing various SE projects and initiatives; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey technical information to technical and non-technical audiences; strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
*10-20 years of professional engineering experience.
*5-10 years as a team leader or technical supervisor.
*3-5 years of systems engineering experience with a government program office or PEO. Experience in NAVAIR preferred.
*DAU/INCOSE certification in Systems Engineering or equivalent.
*Experience preferred in unmanned aerial systems, integrated avionics and sensor packages, fly-by-wire flight controls, and/or command and control systems
*BS (MS preferred) degree in an engineering discipline from a school accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Additional Qualifications:

*Ability to visualize a conceptual image of a project, then develop a plan for its implementation, and execute the plan
*Ability to manage a variety of complex tasks/projects simultaneously
*Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences
*Familiarity with systems engineering tools, applications, processes and procedures such as DOORS, System Architect, Test Director, CMMI, and other related tools of the profession
*Effective management of technical professionals, IT strategic planning, quality/process improvement and basic principles of business administration
*Broad functional knowledge of computer hardware and software platforms, network topologies and solutions architecture
*Ability to use MS Office products at an advanced level of proficiency
*Clearance: Possess a current Secret clearance with the ability to be granted TS/SCI. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation.
